Launched in January 2024 by Arnaud de Fontenay, French Premiere brings a new French film to the Bay Area every month, screened in its original French version with English subtitles.

In the U.S., many excellent French films often have very limited theatrical runs—sometimes just a few days—and are usually confined to major cities like New York or Los Angeles. As a result, the chance to see a recent French film is often restricted to daytime festival screenings, with films soon relegated to Video-On-Demand or streaming platforms, cutting short The Cinema Experience—the shared magic of watching stories unfold on the Big Screen.

In the Bay Area, many French films never make it to theaters at all. French Premiere offers a unique opportunity to catch these films in cinemas just a few months after their release in France.
