EXPERTS INSIGHTS
Arnaud de Fontenay
"A complete success. A great film—at once intimate and epic—that evokes the solitude of General de Gaulle and his single-minded, ultimately rewarded, obsession: to liberate France, without making a single compromise."

LE FIGARO
"This story of a pipe dream that becomes reality (Free France) is the kind of film that Americans no longer make—and that the French have never made."

ELLE
"This first installment is a surprising and spectacular success, blending elements of the adventure film, the comic book, and the picaresque novel."

LA CROIX
With this first installment of a two-part work on General de Gaulle’s wartime years, Antonin Baudry deconstructs the myth of the "man of June 18th"—portrayed here by a mischievous Simon Abkarian—and breathes new life into the epic story of Free France.
